City Reserves Shut Out Coventry

The two youthful and inexperienced sides played out a 0-0 draw today in Nuneaton Borough.

The Bradford City side boasted only three players who had made league appearances for the visitors in Scott Phelan, Luke Medley and David Brown whilst there was a similar story from the hosts with only Arjan de Zeeuw's name standing out.

Stuart McCall used the occasion to cast his eye over a couple of trialists in the shape of Wigan's goalkeeper Russell Saunders and Manchester United full back Conor McCormack and their contribution to the clean sheet will no doubt have impressed the Bradford City management.

However, there were also encouraging performances from some home-grown City talent with Damien Hopkins in particular demonstrating why there are such high hopes for his future around Valley Parade.

Could Saunders be a possible season long loan? He was offered professional terms by Wigan last Summer and has played regular for their reserve team this season.

As long as we don't have to rely on Jamie Waite - he has been awful every time I've seen him.
