'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Joe Colbeck out 'til January

It's taken a while for the news to emerge but Joe's broken a bone in his foot that's going to keep him out of action until the New Year.

He now joins fellow midfielders Chris Brandon and Lee Bullock on the sidelines which means that Stuart McCall is likely to try to extend Nicky Law's loan. However there are other players waiting in the wings for their opportunity and the oft-included Leon Osborne may get his opportunity to make a first team appearance, or perhaps Sean Taylforth will be recalled from Guiseley?

It's bad news for Joe who has begun to look back to his best but the hefty challenge that took him out against Grimsby means that he's going to have to be in a surgical boot for the next few weeks.

Speaking to the T&A Stuart McCall said 'An X-ray he had on Monday proved inconclusive and so he had an MRI scan and it has shown a cracked bone.

It's quite an unusual injury and Joe has been unfortunate in how he has managed to do it.

It could possibly mean two months out. He will have to wear a surgical boot for three to four weeks. It is not like a proper pot so he will be able to get physio on it.

It is disappointing news and Joe is extremely frustrated.'

Get well soon Joe!

A big miss but then you have plenty of options all over the place. Will be a big game Boxing day

Big blow with him putting in some excellent performances this season but his forma had dipped slightly in the last couple, hopefully he'll come back hungry again having to fight for his place.
