Parkinson - All in all it was a great night for us

Fleetwood, new to football league or not, were always going to be a tough proposition for Bradford.

With that in mind Phil Parkinson was more than happy to collect the points on a "great night" for his side at Valley Parade in midweek: 'all in all it was a great night for us.

'It was a really tough game. Fleetwood are a very good side. They have one of the best strikers in the league in Jon Parkin, but I thought we handled him well.'

Having lost the opener at Gillingham Parkinson is happy to be "up and running" now with the points in the 1-0 win against Fleetwood.

Three points from six, against two very good sides, isn't a bad return: 'It was so important to get three points and get the season up and running, settle the new players down and get them used to the crowd.

'It has been a tough start with Gillingham away and Fleetwood at home. I have no doubt these two teams will be up there at the end of the season.'

Now that these nerves are settle Parkinson will be looking for his side to push on, starting at the weekend.
