Parkinson - The lads were terrific

A dramatic late turnaround for Bradford in the closing stages of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday allowed them to cause a 2-1 upset at Watford.

Changes were made by Phil Parkinson, some he had no choice with, but those that came in couldn't be faulted with them doing the job asked of him: 'I thought the lads were terrific tonight. It was a really difficult game coming here and as it got nearer to it we started relishing it more and more.

'I made a few changes, some enforced, a few in terms of thinking about the bigger picture and I thought the lads who came in played really well for us tonight.'

At half time the sides were level but Parkinson believed that The Bantams deserved to be one-nil up with the chances that they had and a "clear penalty" wasn't awarded but the response to falling a goal down couldn't be faulted: 'The disappointment in the first half was when we had one of the clearest penalty decisions I've ever seen not given and I thought we deserved to go in 1-0.

'It was a tremendous strike from their lad to make it 1-0 to them but when the questions were asked, there were a few tired lads out there but we rolled our sleeves up and responded.'

Bradford's third round opponents will be revealed tonight when the draw is made at the conclusion of the second round ties.
