The Christmas party that Bradford had planned has needed to be cancelled, however Phil Parkinson is sure that his players will understand this given the month ahead they have.
An FA Cup second round replay with Brentford will be needed on Tuesday 18th December, the night of the planned Christmas party - so that is off!
Just being "involved" in the game is something that the players, according to Parkinson, should be happy about: 'The players will be disappointed that the Christmas party is off, but a few years ago I was out of work at Christmas time. I missed the football - it is great to be involved at this time of the year.'
With The Bantams still involved in the Capital One Cup, Johnstone's Pain Trophy and the FA Cup that makes it an "exciting time" for the club, so is another reason as to why missing the Christmas party should be acceptable.
Parkinson doubts, as busy as the month will be, many clubs will have such an exciting month as Bradford: 'Not many clubs have got as an exciting month ahead as we have.'
The chance of taking a place in round three of the FA Cup will almost certainly be something that the players will be wanting so will forego the party if they can manage this!
Some might say, "why not reschedule it?" But with so many games played in December this just isn't going to be possible.
