Vale Park Trip In Doubt

Valiant's Working Round The Clock

Vale Park is said to be under cover this evening in an attempt to ensure that the match at the weekend gets the go ahead.

It is hoped that the covers will protect the pitch against sub zero temperatures in the potteries tonight, the temperature is not expected to rise above zero between now and saturday.

I believe the pitch is not currently frozen, however if it was to freeze its thought the game would be in severe jeopardy due to the lack of undersoil heating.

Club spokesman Jo Lumani stated in an article by thisisStaffordshire 'We are keen to keep the positive momentum going from two great wins and we're doing everything possible to make sure the game is on.

'Not many clubs have undersoil heating at this level but the covers are on and we really hope we can get a game on at Vale Park this weekend.'

Vital Bradford City is now available on both facebook and twitter, so if you are that way inclined and more importantly understand all this new fangled dangled stuff, feel free to watch us, poke us or whatever else you are meant to do there!

If Vale Park isn't already frozen, why was their youth cup match against Everton postponed last night? Surely it is already frozen and the covers won't protect the surface anymore? Won't they need to get those massive hot air blowers on it?

I was not awarehe game was called off last night. Was the youth game to be played on first team pitch? If the blowers and cover were a resource they had, I feel they would have used these last night? Cheers for the comments Waynus.

If it is frozen now then it does not look good.

No chance it will be on if they're already calling games off and with the weather forecast as well. Bit of a rest before Villa.

Totally agree. I think any who plays at the weekend will be very lucky. Thanks for the comment BradfordBonkers.

Yes can't see many being on at all especially in our league.
