Parkinson: Happy To Win The Game

The season is now over for Bradford with the final league one fixture seeing them on the road.

Bradford went to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday afternoon, coming away from Prenton Park with all three points to see them end the season in 11th place and condemning Tranmere to relegation.

Phil Parkinson was happy for the Bantams to end the season with a win, meaning the season started and ended positively.

The Bradford boss told the media after the game: 'We are happy to win the game and finish in the top half of the table in what is our first season back at this level.

'It is a tremendous achievement for everyone involved with the club. We started and finished the season really well.

'And, although there were times in the middle when we were looking over our shoulder, we are really pleased overall.'

Bradford had fallen behind, before Junior Brown was sent off leaving Tranmere playing with 10-men for a large period of the game with two-goals in quick succession late on from Jon Stead and Aaron Mclean turning the game around.

Parkinson admits that the sending off might have been a bit too much as he wouldn't have been overly disappointed if a yellow card had been awarded.

He added: 'The sending off came from a late challenge but if he had got a yellow card I wouldn't have grumbled.'
