Knott Couldn't Refuse Bantams Switch
The reports of a move to Bradford had initially been played down but Billy Knott completed his switch to Valley Parade last Thursday.
21-year-old Knott, released by Sunderland at the end of his contract with the premier league side, joined the club on a two-year contract, which wasn't something that he felt he could refuse.
Knott came to Valley Parade with Port Vale last season, when he was on loan with them, and liked the look of the place at the time but following advice from others his mind was made up that it was the right move for him.
He told the official website: 'You ask a lot of people around the game about Bradford and they say what a big club it is.
'When I came here last season with Port Vale, I was on the bench and you could really take in the noise and atmosphere around the ground. I think Bradford had gone a number of games without a win before that night but the crowd was still buzzing.
'When you see the surroundings around here such as the stadium and you hear the gaffer's plans for how he wants to take the club forward, you can't really turn that down.'
The 21-year-old midfielder was glad to get his future sorted out early on in the summer too and can't wait to get involved and play his part next season.
