Bantams Sign Clarke

Bantams Sign Clarke

Bradford will have another new face, at least one more, in attendance when pre-season training begins next week after Billy Clarke signed on as a free agent.

Clarke was one of many released, surprisingly in some people's eyes, by league 1 rivals Crawley Town this summer but has given Phil Parkinson another attacking option now that he's been signed on a two-year contract.

On his signing boss Parkinson told the official website: 'I am pleased we have managed to bring Billy to the football club.

'It is important that we add more competition in attacking areas, and Billy is another player I know who is relishing the challenge of playing for Bradford City.'

The Bantams had been linked with Tom Hitchcock following his released by Queens Park Rangers, but the signing of 26-year-old Clarke should put to bed thoughts of the 21-year-old arriving, with him expected to sign a permanent contract with Rotherham United anyway after a successful loan spell to end the season.
