Paul Taylor off the MK as Aaron Tshibola sees red

Paul Taylor scored his first goal for the Bantams and his first goal since February where again his side were a man to the good over their opposition. Taylor's first goal rounded off a 1-4 win over MK Dons and is the first time City has scored 4 goals away from home in the league since February 2016 against Peterborough United, coincidentally Taylor's previous club.

I didn't FOURsee this result at all and had MKD as pre kick off winners, but a red card from referee Scott Oldham dished out to Aaron Tshibola on 5 minutes changed the outcome massively for both sides before either side had chance to settle down. With such a huge disadvantage for any team, a draw against anyone let alone a team sat 3rd in the table would be a massive achievement for what? 90 minutes.

After the red it only took 6 minutes for Romain Vincelot to score his 4th goal of the season, yet another header assisted from a Tony McMahon corner, then after a positive response against 10 men Charlie Wyke added a 2nd goal 7 minutes later, any team a man down and 2 goals worse off by 18 minutes were always going to struggle to get back into it and grind out any type of result. City didn't have it all our way though with Nicky Law conceding a corner just before half time which resulted in a goal for MKD headed in by Ethan Banks-Landell which was his first goal since January when he was a Sheffield United player. Half time 1-2 to the good and a score which might have created a view nerves amongst the City faithful as surely we can't throw away a 2 goal lead against 10 men. Can we?

Half way into the 2nd half Wyke scored his 2nd goal of the game on 71 minutes which means he has scored 6 goals now in 10 games in 2017/18 and if you like patterns, last season, Wyke scored twice in his 10th game for City making it 6 goals in his first 10 City games. As we all know, a 2 goal cushion is never enough, so rounding off a great result at Stadium:MK Paul Taylor scored his first City goal on 82 minutes. City remain 3rd in the table 4 points off top place Shrewsbury Town and 2 off 2nd placed Wigan Athletic with MK Dons falling from 10th in the table to 13th. The result also means City and Shrewsbury Town have the best away record in League 1 in 2017/18 amassing 14 points with 4 wins and 2 draws each, but City have a better away goal difference of +7 to Shrewsbury's +4. The Bantams are also the leading scorers away from home scoring 14, the next highest scoring team is Peterborough United with 11.

The official attendance 9106.
