Eddie Johnson Returns to Training

After being stretchered off against Wrexham the injury-cursed midfielder is getting back to action in training this week.

That game against Wrexham was his first game back since sciatica laid him low for two months. And it didn't end there, after getting seven stitches in his shin wound he wound up getting an infection and having to be on antibiotics.

Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus, Stuart McCall said 'unfortunately Eddie had a bit of an infection with the stitches and was on antibiotics over the weekend.

It's still a bit red and puffy but looking better and hopefully the strong antibiotics will clear it. We're looking at hopefully doing some work with him today and tomorrow and then possibly he will be in contention for the Bury game.'

Whilst he's on the treatment table perhaps Eddie could get someone to look into whether he's living atop an old Indian burial ground, or smashed a few mirrors, or needs to replace his Lucky Charms!?

super super super eddie j!

Hope he's fit for Bury, he's got great potential as a midfielder, strong in the air & in the tackle, mobile, great vision & passing ability & can strike well from distance. Just needs a good injury-free run in the team to get properly fit. The likes of Peter Thorne, David Brown & Billy Topp (if involved) will definitely benefit from his inclusion. Although I also think that Tom Penford has equally good ability to pick a positive pass out but doesn't have Eddie's strength & goal scoring ability.
