Bradford City vs. Bury

Valley Parade

28/10/08

19.45

FL2 14 Bury (H)

Bradford City go into this clash with Bury on the back of a gritty and determined victory at Blundell Park on Friday.

That game, in difficult circumstances, suggested that the Bantams may have weathered a little drop in standards over the last few weeks.

However, this is the first evening clash at Valley Parade. Last season the players didn't look up for it and went down, depressingly, 3-0 to Accrington Stanley. After that Valley Parade became a midweek fortress as, until the draw with Barnet, every game was won.

Bury have been in something of a blip themselves, as Alan Knill has suffered from the Curse of the Manager of the Month. In their last 6 games the Shakers have taken just 5 points although it is at home that they're most suffering (Saturday's loss was the third home defeat on the spin).

Their away form is a lot better and the Bantams will have to be wary of a team who started the season very well and against whom we enjoyed little or no luck last year.

Bradford City Team News:

Stuart McCall will be without Joe Colbeck who injured his ankle on Saturday so Nicky Law is expected to slot straight into the side on the right wing.

Omar Daley will hope to continue his goal scoring form before sitting out Saturday's visit of Barnet due to picking up his fifth yellow card.

Matt Clarke is suspended and TJ Moncur is likely to switch inside leaving the right back berth open for Tom Clarke or Paul Arnison.

Player to watch: Nicky Law

If he's debuting then it will be a night for him to impress

Bury Team News:

Alan Knill has no new injury concerns ahead of the game after welcoming back Andy Bishop and Efe Sodje on Saturday

Player to watch: Andy Bishop

Hopefully we won't give away any last minute free kicks this year...

Tricky game this, Alan Knill is a canny manager who always seems to get his players doing their jobs well & up for games against us, got a bad feeling about it - plus my mates a Bury fan & he give me some stick if we lose!
